India records 3,614 Covid cases, 89 deaths in past 24 hours

New Delhi:A total of 3,614 people tested positive for Covid-19 in India, the Union Health Ministry said on Saturday. According to the Ministry's bulletin, the total caseload rose to 4,29,87,875 while the death toll rose to 5,15,803 as 89 people succumbed to the disease.
On a positive note, 5,185 more people recovered from the disease, taking the total tally of recoveries to 4,24,31, 513. The recovery rate currently stands at 98.71 per cent. The active caseload stands at 40,559, the figures showed. According to the bulletin, 77.77 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. India has administered 179.91 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.(UNI)
