COVID-19: India logs 5,379 new cases, 27 deaths in 24 hrs

New Delhi: India has recorded 5,379 new Covid-19 cases, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.
The total caseload rose to 4,44,72,241 while the death toll rose to 5,28,057 as 27 more succumbed to the disease.
On the other hand, 7,094 people recuperated from the disease, taking the tally to 4,38,93,590. The recovery rate stands at 98.7 per cent.
The active caseload stands at 50,594, the figures showed.
As per the bulletin, 88.80 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.
India has administered 213.91 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive. (UNI)
