COVID 4th wave scare: India records 4,518 cases in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India recorded 4,518 new covid-19 cases in past 24 hours, taking the total tally of cases to 4,31,81,335 in the country, the Health Ministry said on Monday.
Meanwhile, nine deaths were recorded, taking the total death count to 5,24,701.
The active cases stand at 25,782, which now comprise 0.06 percent of the total infections, while the national Covid recovery rate stands at 98.73 percent.
At least 2,779 recoveries were reported, increasing the total recoveries to 4,26,30,852.
On the vaccination front, the government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country.
According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry, 85.29 crore Covid tests have been done so far.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 2,78,059 tests were conducted.
“India has administered 194.12 Cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said.
More than 193.53 Crore more vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far.
Over 14.78 crore balance and unutilized Covid vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, the ministry added. (UNI)
