BJP suspends Telangana party MLA Raja Singh for derogatory remarks on Prophet

Hyderabad: After taking seriously the derogatory remarks made against a particular community in a video posted on social media by BJP Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh, the Party Central Disciplinary Committee has suspended him with immediate effect.
Issuing a show cause notice to Raja Singh by Central Disciplinary Committee member secretary Om Pathak, he was given 10 days time as to why he should not be expelled from the party.
Cases had already being registered against the BJP MLA by the local police.
The BJP high command enquired about Raja Singh behaviour and initiated disciplinary action to prevent damage to the party. As part of it, it suspended him from the party.
Raja Singh was arrested by the city police on Tuesday morning when Muslims complained about the controversial video uploaded by him.
Large-scale protests was held in Hyderabad against him since Monday night.
Muslim leaders staged dharnas in front of Bhavani Nagar, Dabirpura and Rain Bazar police stations besides City Police Commissioner’s office demanding his immediate arrest as he was making provocative comments.
Raja Singh said that he was ready to die for Dharma.
He said that Munawar Faruqui had done a comedy show insulting Lord Rama and goddess sita and had been warned that there would be dire consequences. (UNI)
