Security beefed up in Ayodhya on Disputed structure demolition anniv

Ayodhya: In view of the 26th anniversary of the demolition of disputed structure in Ayodhya today, the district administration is on toes to maintain peace.
Police Superintendent (city) Anil Kumar Sisodia here said that strict measures and surveillance was in place for the security of the district, adding that checks were being conducted on people coming from outside.
Section 144 CrPC has been clamped in Ayodhya, he added. Surveillance and security had been increased from Wednesday itself in the district as well as nearby cities.
The police and the administrative officials toured the premises around the disputed structure and reviewed the security situation on Thursday morning.
Vehicles entering Ayodhya are being given entry only after a thorough check. A separate team has been deployed on the border of the district for surveillance.
Coordination is being maintained on the bordering districts of Ayodhya as well, so that no uncouth elements enter the city. The police is maintaining strict vigil in sensitive areas.
Police teams and administrative officials also reviewed the venues of the programmes to be held today in Ayodhya and Faizabad. Security forces have been deployed in huge numbers in the district.
Checks were conducted through dog squads on the roads and markets leading to major temples.Every inch of the city, including the birthplace area and Hanumangarhi temple, are being closely monitored.
Four workers of the Hindu Samaj Party, who announced 'Karsewa' in view of the 26th anniversary of the demolition, were arrested on Wednesday. Mahant Paramhans Das was also arrested and sent to jail on Tuesday in this connection. The religious leader, who had been demanding the construction of the temple, had announced self-immolation on December 6. (UNI)
