Hyderabad: In preparation for the annual Fish Prasadam distribution event scheduled on June 8 and 9 at the Exhibition Grounds, Nampally, that is expected to see the gathering of thousands of people, a high-level coordination meeting was convened on Monday.
The meeting was chaired by Shilpa Valli, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Zone, Hyderabad.
The session witnessed participation from 21 key departments of Hyderabad City, representatives from the organising body, NGOs, and the Exhibition Society. Discussions centred around logistics, security, traffic management, public health, and crowd control to ensure the event proceeds smoothly.
The meeting also involved a comprehensive review of shortcomings from the previous year, with an emphasis on implementing corrective measures.
Each department was given clear directives to work in close coordination to facilitate a safe and orderly distribution of the Fish Prasadam to thousands of devotees expected to attend.
The DCP stressed the importance of inter-departmental synergy and proactive planning, stating that all necessary precautions will be taken to manage large crowds and uphold public safety during the event.
The annual free 'Fish Prasadam' event, organised by the Bathini family, is administered to asthma patients and those with other respiratory ailments. It is believed to cure asthma and other respiratory ailments. Thousands gather to avail the prasadam.
The Bathini family inserts a herbal paste into the mouth of a live fingerling, which is then given to the patients. For vegetarian patients, a separate medicine with jaggery is prepared.
