Gautam Gambhir tests -ve for COVID-19 after case detected at home

New Delhi: Former India opener and Lok Sabha MP Gautam Gambhir on Sunday said that he has tested negative for Covid-19, days after he revealed there was a novel coronavirus scare at his at his home.

Gambhir was in isolation for a couple of days due to a COVID-19 case at his residence.

“Glad to share that my COVID test result is negative. Thank you for all the wishes. I again urge everyone to strictly follow guidelines. Stay safe,” he tweeted on Sunday.

Gautam Gambhir, who is a Lok Sabha MP from East Delhi, has been working as a cricket expert during the ongoing IPL 2020 season.

Notably, the national capital has witnessed a sudden increase in COVID-19 cases. As per the officials, Delhi is witnessing third wave of coronavirus. The state recently recorded over 7,000 cases for the first time.

Delhi recorded 6,953 new coronavirus cases and 79 deaths on Saturday, according to the official health bulletin.

The total number of positive cases in Delhi stands at 4,30,784. The total active and recovered cases are 40,258. (UNI)
