I stand with last person in line, irrespective of their religion: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi: In an apparent response to BJP attacking the Congress for appeasing the Muslims, party president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that he stands with the last person in the line and that their religion, caste or beliefs matter little to him.

Rahul Gandhi tweeted:

I stand with the last person in the line. The exploited, marginalised and the persecuted. Their religion, caste or beliefs matter little to me.

I seek out those in pain and embrace them. I erase hatred and fear.

I love all living beings.

I am the Congress.

The tweet is being seen as a response to the recent attacks by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, charging the Congress of appeasing the minority community.

The attacks followed recent meeting of Mr Gandhi with intellectuals with the minority community, in which he was quoted in some sections of the media as saying that Congress was a party of Muslims. (UNI)
