Mysuru: A leopard was spotted roaming in the Mysuru Infosys campus in the early hours of Tuesday.

The tech giant swiftly implemented safety measures, instructing employees to work from home for the day.

The forest department has launched an extensive search operation to capture the animal, which was first detected on CCTV cameras around 2 AM. The Deputy Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), IB Prabhu Gowda, confirmed ongoing efforts to safely rescue the leopard.

The campus, located near the Hebbal Industrial Area and close to a reserve forest, has seen similar incidents in the past. In 2011, a leopard was also found on the premises, likely straying in search of food.

Infosys informed its employees through an internal memo that all security measures were being reinforced. "A wild animal has been spotted on the Mysuru DC campus today. Efforts are underway to ensure campus safety in collaboration with the task force. You are requested to work from home," the communication read.

Trainees residing in campus hostels have been advised to remain indoors, with their training schedules postponed by a day. The forest department continues to work diligently to locate and relocate the animal, ensuring safety for employees and wildlife alike.

The incident has raised concerns about the growing interaction between wildlife and urban areas, underscoring the need for balanced coexistence strategies.
