Thane: Navi Mumbai police have arrested four individuals for allegedly stealing cargo ship engine components valued at over 93 lakh, officials announced on Saturday.
The theft came to light after Vasudev Dattatreya Prabhu reported a break-in at his company’s warehouse on May 25, during which parts of a cargo ship’s turbo engine were stolen.
Acting on the complaint, Turbhe police analysed technical evidence and reviewed footage from approximately 40 CCTV cameras in the area.
The investigation led to the arrest of four suspects from Indiranagar, Turbhe MIDC, on May 28.
Police have since recovered engine parts worth about Rs 74 lakh from the accused, with efforts ongoing to trace the remaining stolen property.
