PM Modi arrives in Italy to participate in G7 Summit, to hold bilateral talks with world leaders

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Apulia, Italy, in the early hours of Saturday to participate in the G7 Summit, during which he is expected to participate in the discussions and also hold bilateral talks with the world leaders present.
 
This is PM Modi’s first overseas visit since forming government for the third consecutive time.
 
The PM posted on X:
 
“Landed in Italy to participate in the G7 Summit. Eager to engage in productive interactions with world leaders. Together, we want to address global issues and encourage international cooperation for a better future.”

 
The MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal posted on X that the PM’s agenda at the G7 includes participation in the Outreach session, and holding bilateral meetings with the global leaders on the sidelines.

Agenda includes participation in the Outreach session of the G7 Summit & substantive interactions with the global leaders on the sidelines.
 
An action-packed day awaits!”

 
In his departure tweet, the PM said: “I will be attending the G7 Summit in Italy. I look forward to meeting fellow world leaders and discussing a wide range of issues aimed at making our planet better and improving lives of people.”
 
PM Modi will be participating in the Outreach Session on June 14, which will be focused on AI, energy, Africa and the Mediterranean.
 
“India’s regular participation at the G7 clearly points to India’s increasing recognition and contribution of the efforts that India has been consistently making in trying to resolve global challenges, including those of peace, security, development, and preservation,” Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said at a special briefing here.
