New Delhi: Newly formed political party, Swaraj India tonight condemned the murder of eminent Kannada Journalist Gauri Lankesh and demanded that prompt action should be taken against the culprits. "Swaraj India condemns the murder of Gauri Lankesh, one of the fearless journalists of Karnataka," the party said in a statement here. Observing it is highly disturbing to note the atmosphere of muzzling on free speech through violence and hatred, the party said, "We've seen how Dr Dabholkar, was killed.
Kalburgi and Govind Pansare were silenced for ever by the forces which are a looming threat to the society and constitution of India. "Swaraj India wants to make it clear to the violaters that we, the people of India, will not be terrorised by the cowardly acts of these goons," it stated. The party also demanded that prompt and independent action should be taken against her murderers and the criminals should be immediately brought to justice. Lankesh was tonight shot dead by unknown miscreants. They sprayed seven rounds on her as she was attempting to open the door of her residence in Rajajeswari Nagar (Bengaluru) and fled from the scene.
