The weekly report: Sensex went bullish, zooms 753.87 points

Mumbai:The Sensex zoomed by 753.87 points or 1.44 pc at 53,140.06, an all-time-high in a week under review tracking positive cues from Asian peers.

 
Good June 2021 quarterly earnings, declining new COVID cases and increased pace of vaccination boosted sentiment.
 
The Nifty gained 233.60 points or 1.49 pc to settle at 15,923.40.The BSE Mid-Cap added 316.74 or 1.39 pc to settle at 23,130.41. The BSE Small-Cap advanced 587.91 points or 2.27 pc to settle at 26,462.31.
 
Of 5 sessions of the week, first and the last session the market was in red, while three sessions it was in green.On Monday, the Sensex fell 13.50 points to settle at 52,372.69 while the Nifty rose 2.80 points to settle at 15,692.60.
 
On Tuesday, the Sensex advanced 397.04 points to settle at 52,769.73; the Nifty added 119.75 points or 0.76 per cent to 15,812.35.
 
On Wednesday, Sensex rose 134.32 points to settle at 52,904.05. The Nifty gained 41.60 points to settle at 15,853.95.The next day, the Sensex rallied 254.80 points to settle at 53,158.85. Nifty added 70.25 points to settle at 15,924.20.
 
On Friday, it was ended negative by 18.79 points to settle at 53,140.06. Nifty too lost 0.80 points to settle at 15,923.40.
 
Wipro jumped 9.86 pc reported a 9.20 pc rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 3,248 crore in Q1 June 2021 (Q1 FY22) as against Rs 2,974.30 crore in Q4 March 2021 consolidated revenues grew 12.35 pc to Rs 18,252.40 crore in Q1 June 2021 compared with Rs 16,245.40 crore in Q4 March 2021.
 
Reliance Industries (RIL) rose 1.86 pc. The conglomerate has invested Rs 1 lakh in Reliance New Energy Solar (RNESL), a newly incorporated wholly owned subsidiary. RNESL is incorporated to undertake activities relating to solar energy. RNESL is yet to commence its business operations.
 
Maruti Suzuki India slipped 1.64 pc. The car major on Monday announced a price hike for Swift and all CNG variants owing to increase in various input costs. Increase in ex-showroom prices (Delhi) is up to Rs 15,000 on Swift and all CNG variants. The new prices are effective from Monday July 12 ,2021. The company added that the price increase in other models is planned shortly and shall be intimated accordingly.
 
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) dropped 5.53 pc .Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) lost 0.41 pc . The IT major on Wednesday announced plans to expand its operations in Arizona, investing more than USD300 million by 2026 and hiring more than 220 employees by 2023, to meet the digital transformation needs of its customers. TCS will also continue to expand the reach of its STEM and Computer Science education programs in Arizona by increasing teacher training and online content for students over the next two years.
 
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) declined 1.02 pc while GAIL (India) skid 1.56 pc ONGC has signed a five-year gas sale and transportation agreement with Gail India for sale of 90 pc of its domestic gas produce at domestic price.(UNI)
