Cooch Behar: A live hand grenade, which found from the Malkhana of Cooch Behar Sadar Police Court, was successfully defused by the Indian Army on Thursday, official sources said.
According to police sources, the grenade was recovered in a sack of ganja, which was dumped in the ‘malkhana’ (store room) of the Cooch Behar District Court on Tuesday. The live grenade was found among confiscated items stored in the court's store room.
A team of Indian Army soldiers from Binaguri camp in north Bengal arrived and took the grenade to the bank of Bisarjan Ghat for successful diffusion, sources said.
