In a tweet, AICC secretary Vineet Punia said, ''AICC spokesperson and senior Congress leader died of heart attack. My deep condolences to his family members and his supporters.''
Party sources said that Tyagi died at his residence in Ghaziabad. They said that Tyagi suffered a heart attack during a TV debate on Wednesday evening. Tyagi was Congress' national spokesperson and had worked in the party in various capacities. He was also assigned to handle the media in Mumbai in the Maharashtra Assembly polls.
