COVID-19: Andhra Pradesh administers record 13 lakh vaccines in single day

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh on Sunday created a national record by administering 13 lakh Covid vaccines.
According to official sources, a special vaccine drive was launched in AP today and 2232 vaccination centres were set up in all the 13 districts, where about 13 lakh vaccines have been administered till evening. The Andhra Pradesh state today broke its own record of administering 6 lakh vaccines in a single day.
Sources said that arrangements were made to dispatch vaccines to all the vaccine centres in the state from the central vaccine store located at Gannavaram in Krishna district.
Meanwhile, continuing the downtrend, AP reported 5,646 positive cases of Coronavirus while 50 patients died in a period of 24 hours ending at 9 am today. The total deaths have gone up to 12,319. As many as 7,772 have recovered during a period of 24 hours and there are 63,068 active cases in the state now.
The tally of positive cases has spiked to 18,50,563 while 17,75,176 have been recovered and discharged from hospital across the state. So far 2,11,50,847 swab samples have been diagnosed in the state so far. (UNI)
