Elgar Parishad demands reservation for Maratha community

Aurangabad: Maratha Kranti Thok Morcha (MKTM) organised  ‘First Elgar Parishad’ here in the city for propagating the rights of the Maratha community,  the event was attended by a large number of students from Rajput, Dhangar, OBC communities who expressed their support for the demand for reservation for the Maratha community.      

The parishad on Saturday also warned that MKTM will disrupt the meeting of revenue minister Balasaheb Thorat in the city during the upcoming civic polls, as he has opposed the renaming of Aurangabad as Sambhajinagar. 

The MKTM said that the first Elgar Parishad has been conducted and now it is going to organize district, taluka, circle level Maratha Youth Elgar Parishad all over Maharashtra and create a big mass movement through creating awareness among the youth.

Chief coordinator of MKTM Ramesh Kere Patil said that if the stay on Maratha reservation is not lifted on January 25, students and youth will hold a sit-in agitation at Kranti Chowk on January 28 against the government. 

The Parishad was attended by Shailesh Bhise, Dr.  Vanarse, Kiran Kale Patil, Manoj Murdare, Shubham Kere, Nitin Shelke among others were present in large numbers. (UNI)
