Maharashtra: Alcoholic father gets life imprisonment for repeatedly raping his own minor daughter

Aurangabad: The District and Sessions Court Judge R S Nimbalkar convicted and sentenced an alcoholic father to life imprisonment for frequently raping on his own minor daughter in 2019.
The court also slapped a collective fine of Rs 40,000 on the accused.
According to prosecution, the wife of the accused had lodged a rape complaint on January 27, 2019 in which she stated that her husband raped their own minor daughter several times which was narrated by the victim to her mother.
On the basis of the complaint police registered a case of rape under the POSCO Act and under others sections of IPC and filed a chargesheet in the sessions court against the accused.
During the hearing in the case assistance public prosecutor Sudesh Shirsat examined 7 witnesses including the complainant, doctor and headmaster of the school where the girl studied.
Taking all the evidence presented into consideration the court found the accused guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment. (UNI)
