Militant, OGW who killed off-duty CRPF personnel arrested in Kashmir

Srinagar: J&K Police on Sunday arrested a militant and his accomplice Over Ground Worker (OGW) who had killed Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in Shopian, Police said on Sunday.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar said that the killer of CRPF personnel Mukhatar Ahmad who was at home on leave and was shot dead by militants on Saturday in South Kashmir's Shopian district, was arrested.

A pistol used in the commission of the crime was also recovered on the disclosure of the arrested militant.

Mukthar Ahmad, the CRPF personnel, of Shopian was shot at and critically injured by militants on Saturday. He succumbed to his injuries while on the way to the hospital.

He said one OGW who accompanied the militant during the “terror crime” was also arrested. The terror crime was committed on the directions of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) commander Abid Ramzan Sheikh, the IGP added.
