Mumbai: Shiv Sena leader and MP Sanjay Raut once again hit out at Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut over her controversial statement on Mahatma Gandhi.
While interacting with media here, he targeted Kangana saying, "Crazy people are rampant. Why do they grow? What are they intoxicated with? Who supplies them with these drugs?"
He demanded that the Narcotics Control Bureau should make proper inquiry into the matter, while pointing the finger at the film actress.
In a veiled attack on the BJP-led central government over handling of its policy toward its northern neighbour China, the Sena leader said, "In front of China, you put your other cheek forward. China has slapped you on the cheek."
"China has invaded Ladakh, as well Arunachal Pradesh. Yet we have the second cheek forward," he said.
"Pandits are being killed in Kashmir. There is a lot going on in this country. That madam (Kangana) must know. They need to know what the country is like today," he added.
Describing Mahatma Gandhi as a world hero, Raut said that due to some differences, Sena founder late Bal Thackeray also criticized him.
"But he (Mahatma Gandhi) gave direction to the freedom struggle. (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi also goes to Rajghat to offer flowers on Gandhi Jayanti. This madam should know this," he said in his criticism of Kangana.
Today, the whole country and the world is influenced by Gandhian thought, he asserted and said the real threat is from pseudo pro-Hindu activists.
Recalling the speech of Chief Minister and the party chief Uddhav Thackeray at the recent annual Dussehra rally, Raut pointed that the Chief Minister had said that the real threat to this country was from fake pro-Hindu activists.
"When elections come, these people create Hindu-Muslim disputes. India-Pakistan disputes. They leave no stone unturned to win the elections," he noted.
"These people want riots and violence. Everyone knows who these people are," the Sena leader said without naming any party.
Raut also said that the party chief Thackeray had openly challenged such people.
Reacting over Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis' criticism of him in a party meet yesterday, the Sena leader retorted, “Who are you? What happened to you? Everyone knows who we are.”
"If this condition persists, it may be time for you to be admitted to Yerawada mental hospital in Pune. I pray that such a time will not come. This is what happens when frustration becomes indigestion," he said.
"Such statements come when frustration is out of proportion," Raut added. (UNI)
