Jayashankar Bhupalpally: To create confidence among the mothers over the Public healthcare system in Telangana, Mulugu Additional Collector Ila Tripathi, has chosen a government area hospital and gave birth to a baby boy at the hospital here on Monday night.
Tripathi, the wife of District Collector Bhavesh Mishra, was admitted to the government hospital in the afternoon after labour pains.
A team of doctors led by Gynaecologists Sridevi, Lavanya, Sandhyarani and Vidya at the hospital performed a C-section due to the baby's weight, according to doctors at the hospital.
The baby weighed 3.4 kg and both the mother and child were doing fine.
The IAS couple became role models for the people of the district through their act, showing that there was no need to go to private hospitals for deliveries.
Ever since he took charge as the District Collector, Mishra has been working continuously for the improvement of the infrastructure at the area hospital for the benefit of the poor people.
A 2017 batch IAS officer from Lucknow, Ila Tripathi had earlier worked as the Additional Collector (Local Bodies), in Mancherial. (UNI)
