Johannesburg: After going down 0-2, the Virat Kohli-led Team India will be eyeing to avoid a whitewash when they take on hosts South Africa for the final time in the series here at the New Wandrers stadium on Wednesday.
The Faf Du Plessis' men have already sealed the series after winning the first Test in Cape Town by 72 runs and the second Test in Centurion by 135 runs. This was also the first overseas Test series loss for India under Virat Kohli which also ended India's streak of nine consecutive series' wins since 2015. However, even if the visitors lose the three-match rubber suffering a whitewash, they will not lose its no 1 Test ranking.
On Wednesday, pacer Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, who didn't featured in the Centurion Test, is expected to make a return to the playing eleven after bagging six wickets in the first Test. Experienced spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also stands tall with seven wickets from two games with an average of 30.71.(UNI)
