Swiss Open: PV Sindhu reaches final, K Srikanth bows out

Basel: Indian ace shuttler PV Sindhu stormed into the final of Swiss Open Super 300 Tournament after defeating fourth-seeded Denmark’s Mia Blichfeldt in straight games, here on Saturday.
The second-seeded Sindhu registered 22-20, 21-10 win over her opponent in 43 minutes.
However, in the men’s singles, Kidambi Srikanth crashed out of the tournament after losing to Denmark’s Viktor Axelsen in the semifinal match. Axelsen defeated Srikanth 21-13, 21-19 in 41 minutes.
In the men’s doubles category, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty too made exit of the tournament after losing to Danish pair of Kim Astrup and Andreas Engelbert 21-10, 21-17 in 44 minutes in the semi-finals. (UNI)
