In a tragic incident, a 51-year-old man died of a heart attack after his eight-year-old son was stuck inside an elevator in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal.
The incident took place on May 26 at Nirupam Society in the city.
The man, identified as Rishi Bhatnagar, lived with his wife and two sons on the third floor.
Bhopal Station House Officer (SHO) Manish Raj Singh said, “On May 26, we received an information that a person named Rishi Bhatnagar was brought to the hospital, who was declared dead."
"On the night of May 26, Rishi came downstairs and saw his son there. At around 10:30 pm, he asked his child to go home. The child was going in the lift when the lights went out," the police official said.
"Rishi got worried that his child might have got stuck in the lift. Due to which he suffered a heart attack out of panic," the official said.
The child stepped out of the elevator safely after the electricity was restored in nearly three minutes, the police added.
