Slight dip in COVID cases: India logs 9,923 new cases in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India has recorded 9,923 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total active cases to 79,313 as per the Health Ministry data on Tuesday.
Meanwhile the total case since the pandemic in the country are stood at 4,33,19,396.
As many as 17 fresh fatalities were also recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the total death count in the country, as a result of coronavirus, to 52,48,90.
Meanwhile, 7,293 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries to 4,2715193.
The active cases comprise 0.18 per cent of the total infections, wherras the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 98.61 percent.
On the vaccination front, the government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country.
According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry on Tuesday, 85.85 Crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 3,88,641 tests have been conducted.
“India has administered 196.32 Cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said.
More than 193.53 Crore more vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far. Over 12.53 crore balance and unutilized Covid vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, the ministry said. (UNI)
