Kerala: 9-year-old student miraculously escapes snake bite in classroom

Palakkad: A 9-year-old fourth standard student miraculously escaped from the bite of a venomous snake even after the snake wrapped itself around her legs when she accidentally stepped on it as it was lying on the floor of her class room on Monday.
The incident occurred around 0930 hrs when the girl reached the class room of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) at Mankara.
The student shook her leg and the snake slipped from her leg.
Hearing the screams of other children, teachers rushed to the class room and killed the snake and took the girl to the District hospital at Palakkad.
Doctors said, the health condition of the student is stable.
In November, 2019, Shehla (10), a fifth standard student of a Government school at Sulthan Bathery in Wayanad district died following a snake bike while sitting in the classroom. (UNI)
