In a shocking incident, a young man committed suicide in Uttar Pradesh's Farrukhabad, leaving behind a note written in blue ink on the white trousers he was wearing. The deceased's father has filed an FIR against 5 people, including two constables.

Dilip Rajput, 25, a resident of Gutasi village, was a farmer. He married Neeraj (23), a resident of Rasidpur village, three years ago. They also have a three-month-old daughter.

According to the complaint file by the deceased’s father, on Monday night, Dilip had a dispute with his wife over an undisclosed issue. So, he dropped his wife at her maternal home. Then, his wife filed a complaint against him at Hathiapur police post of Maudarwaja police station and he was picked up by two constables - Yashwant Yadav and Mahesh Upadhyay. Constable Yashwant Yadav demanded Rs 50,000 and said that he would let him go only if he was given the money. When Dilip refused, Constable Mahesh Upadhyay took him inside and thrashed him. They let him off only after Rs 40,000 was paid.

However, after returning from the police station, he took his own life by hanging himself. On Tuesday morning, around 06:30, family members found his body in his room and informed the police. The police have sent the body for a post-mortem examination.

Before taking this extreme step, Dilip wrote a suicide note on his trousers accusing police constables Jaswant and Mahesh of subjecting him to "3rd degree torture." In a suicide note written on his trousers, the deceased said that the constables had demanded Rs 50,000 but released him after he paid Rs 40,000.

He also accused his in-laws of harassing him. In his suicide note the deceased has written, “Meri biwi ne muje police se pitwaya (My wife got me tharshed by cops.)”

Both the accused constables were immediately suspended.
