COVID-19: India records 11,539 more cases in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India recorded 11,539 new cases of Covid-19 during the past 24 hours, said the Ministry of Health and Family welfare in its latest update on Sunday.
Addition of these new cases have taken the tally of active cases in the country to 99,879.
As many as 43 fresh fatalities were also recorded during the past 24 hours, taking the total death count in the country, as a result of Coronavirus to 5, 27,332.
Meanwhile, 12,783 recoveries were reported during the past 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 4,37,12,218, whereas the national Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98.59 percent.
On the vaccination front, the government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country
According to the bulletin, 88.24 Crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. In the last 24 hours, a total of 3,07 680 tests were conducted.
“India has administered 209.67 cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine (93.94 cr second dose, and 13.52 cr precaution dose ), so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said.
More than 200.28 Crore vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far. Over 7.04 crore balance and unutilized Covid vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, the ministry said. (UNI)
