Mumbai: Bollywood powerhouses Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, remembered for their electrifying screen camaderie in the 1990s, are set to rekindle their on-screen alliance in Priyadarshan's forthcoming action extravaganza "Haiwaan".
The celebrated duo, who carved a niche with films such as "Yeh Dillagi", "Main Khiladi Tu Anari", "Tu Chor Main Sipahi", "Keemat", "Aarzoo" and "Tashan", is once again set to recreate their trademark chemistry in a genre that has often showcased their flair for both charisma and intensity.
Filming has already commenced in Kochi, Kerala.Akshay announced the start of production on "Haiwaan", sharing a behind-the-scenes video from the film's set which also featured Saif and Priyadarshan. "Hum sab hi hain thode se shaitaan… Koi upar se Saint, koi andar se Haiwaan... (Translation: Within us all lies a shade of mischief, some wear the mask of a saint, while others conceal the beast within). Starting the shoot for #Haiwaan today with my absolute favourite captain of the ship, @priyadarshandir Sir. Great to be working with Saif after nearly 18 years. Let’s get the haiwaniyat rolling," the actor posted on X.
Jointly produced by KVN Productions and Thespian Films, under the banner of Venkata K. Narayan and Shailaja Desai Fenn. "Haiwaan" also stars Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher with a cameo by Mohanlal. After Kochi, the film's shoot will continue in Vagamon, Ooty, and Mumbai. Industry insiders suggest that the film is likely to hit theatres sometime next year, promising to be a pulsating cinematic spectacle.
